This is a website about Light Bulbs. There are many types of light bulbs you can buy. There are light bulbs that save more energy than others.  There are incandescent bulbs (ICDs), compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs), and light emitting diodes (LEDs).  CFLs use 25% less energy than incandescent bulbs (juniorenergy.org).  LEDs use even less power. Incandescent bulbs use even more energy than other light bulbs. If the U.S. uses compact fluorescent bulbs they can save up to 70% more electricity. Even though the light emitting diodes light bulbs save more energy than others they cost more than others too. Right now the CFLs are more efficient to use.

    Other Info About Light Bulbs

    • CFLs cost more in the beginning and less in the end.
    • Try not to use ICD bulbs because they do not save energy.
    • When broken CFLs have a toxic chimical called mercury that can harm you.

    Our Science Experiment

Problem: Which light bulb is better to save energy and to read?

Hypothesis: I think the C.F.L. lights will be the best for reading and saving energy.

Experiment: Test all the lights to see how many watts they use.

    Picture
Conclusion: My hypothesis was right and I learned that the CFLs are the best for reading and  saving energy.

    ICDs

    Picture
The ICD light was too bright. Also it does not save energy.

    CFLs

    Picture
The CFLs are great for reading and they are also saving energy.

    LEDs

    Picture
The LED lights are saving energy but not as bright as the others.
